Create Outcomes is an organization devoted to supporting our clients and staff in growing toward their highest potential. Our philosophy is founded on a belief that each individual we serve is unique, with their own culture and needs. Therefore, we take a holistic approach, offering guidance in many accessible forms. We are dedicated to translating empirical research into everyday tools and strategies that anyone can use.
An inclusive workplace is defined as a work environment that makes every employee feel valued while also acknowledging their differences and how these differences contribute to the organization's culture and business outcomes. At Create Outcomes, we value all of our employees, clients, and vendors to this end. It is a core value of Create Outcomes that we incorporate diversity and inclusion initiatives into all the work that we do.
All staff are expected to fully participate in our monthly group consultations. These meetings help staff develop more cultural awareness within their therapeutic frames by reflecting on how personal and political issues can impact their professional work.
To foster this culture, we offer an open environment free of fear of reprisals; we are transparent in communication and expectations, and encourage our employees to be open and honest with us so that we can best support each other and the organization.
We COLLABORATE to help you overcome ROADBLOCKS by EQUIPPING you while we ACKNOWLEDGE, TRACK and EVALUATE your progress.
The Create Model effectively utilizes psychodynamic theory to assess the appropriateness of other evidence-based interventions through a holistic assessment of the client, comprehensive treatment planning, and a systematic approach to tracking progress while using our Life-Work Map to evaluate core competencies of the therapist.
Collaborate to ensure that the unique dynamic between the therapist and the client is conducive to personal growth and self-discovery.
Roadblocks are the root cause of the presenting problem preventing the client from reaching their desired outcomes.
Equip with insight and other evidence-based interventions to overcome roadblocks.Acknowledge when a client utilizes newly acquired skills and insights to reach their goals.
Track the client’s overall growth routinely to determine if the therapist needs to adapt treatment interventions to the unique needs of the client.
Evaluate client progress through collaborative documentation.
Guiding Principles
We use the acronym T.I.P.S. as our guiding principles:
Therapeutic Frame: The purpose of having a therapeutic frame is to guide clinicians in their interactions by providing a structure for self-evaluation. The therapeutic frame is meant to help maintain productive relationships. It allows clinicians to recognize and examine when their bias may be present and emphasizes self-awareness.
Individualized Information: Clinicians become aware of what is meaningful to the client in order to create their Life Map. We examine their goals, desires, values and motivation. Individualized information also includes diagnostic considerations in the context of these personal factors.
Protocols, Policies And Procedures: Maintaining awareness of our ethical and legal obligations as licensed clinicians is always an important consideration in therapeutic work. Our organization emphasizes competency in the areas of risk, collaborative documentation, treatment planning and privacy.
Strategies: Once a therapist has examined their therapeutic frame, assessed the individualized information, and considered relevant policies and procedures, the clinician can then choose the most effective therapeutic strategy to meet the unique needs of the client.
Theoretical Lens
We translate current research and theoretical foundations of the past into applicable clinical skills. We work to integrate psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral approaches, and the unique perspective and training of the therapist with the intention of providing the most clinically relevant care to each individual.
We emphasize the interpersonal characteristics, such as accurate empathy and genuineness, that effective psychotherapists share regardless of their particular theoretical orientation or treatment approach. Honing these core competencies is supported by the research that is compiled in the book Effective Psychotherapists (Miller & Moyers, 2021).
Our team takes a relational approach to therapy. Examining transference and countertransference through the lens of your therapeutic frame ensures a clearer window into the development and culture of each client. This allows clients to develop more conscious awareness of parts of themselves that are activated from one experience to the next and how these aspects of their character formed over their lifetime. The client can generalize these insights to their external world to live more in alignment with their values.
We are client-centered and believe in transparent, collaborative, and responsive treatment. The LifeMap process has the clinician and client work together to create a treatment plan that the client has access to at any time. The LifeMap is revisited consistently throughout the client’s treatment as a way to track and evaluate progress over time. This supports the clinician to continually reassess whether the therapeutic approach taken is the right fit.
Supervision and Consultation
Our outcomes-focused approach equips our clients with the tools they need to overcome the roadblocks that stand in their way. Here's how we do it.
Supervision: Our purpose is to support and empower our team when navigating complex clinical work. Bias and stereotypes that could potentially interfere with the therapeutic relationship are examined. This is a time to reflect and assess what is working, and how to adapt the treatment approach when needed.
Training: Clinicians create a LifeWork Map with their supervisors. This tool is regularly used to support a clinician's professional growth and further develop their therapeutic skills. Our team receives extensive training from beginning to end. We assess the core competencies of our therapists that have been outlined in recent research.
Parts Identification + Integration: All of us have many parts to who we are. Our Parts Work approach is based on object relations theory and allows clients to deeply understand the complexities of their minds, as well as make modalities like CBT more meaningful and user-friendly to shift thinking and improve overall functioning.
Diversity + Inclusion Lens: All of our staff attend Diversity-focused Group Supervision Meetings facilitated by a guest speaker from outside the organization. All staff are expected to fully participate in Diversity and Inclusion training to learn about and develop cultural humility.
Research: The clinician uses their judgment to determine which empirically-supported treatment (EST) or intervention is the best fit for each client. When a client faces roadblocks to reaching their goals, we reassess the therapeutic intervention and modify accordingly.
